Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Shrimpi & Squiddy Labs, doing business as Subtl ("we," "our," or "us"), operates the Subtl translation platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
Content Data: We store the source files you upload (subtitles, documents, presentations, ebooks), translated content, lexicon entries, annotations, and project metadata.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the service, including pages visited, features used, and timestamps.
Device Information: We may collect browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the translation platform
- To process your translations using third-party LLM providers
- To manage your account, team memberships, and project access
- To communicate with you about service updates and support

4. Third-Party Services
We use third-party large language model (LLM) providers to perform translations. When you request a translation, the relevant source text and lexicon context are sent to these providers. We select providers with appropriate data processing agreements and do not send your entire lexicon or project — only the specific content needed for each translation batch.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict processing of your personal data

9. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
